Strategic/ Commercial Thinkers

Our work spans 25 years with commercial developers has honed a response to projects that pairs the commercial drivers with great design. The efficiencies and logic we apply to our building layouts allow for budget to be diverted to the areas of most impact. Our recent success with planning and development approvals beyond preferred controls is testament to the quality of design and our strategic approach to the planning process.

Architecture and Interior Design as One

Founded by an interior designer and an architect, BayleyWard brings interior thinking into projects from the outset. In a world where the two are intrinsically connected they are considered from first principals; the DNA of the project is established with a broad range of skill-sets that establish narrative, flow, functional brief and aesthetic.

Sustainability

At BayleyWard our commitment to sustainable design is fundamental. In a diverse and evolving world our buildings need to respond to both the needs of life today and be designed with the future in mind. For us sustainability encompasses more than energy usage, it is about creating communities and place making for everyone. We believe our designs can inspire and educate users to live, work and play in a consciously more inclusive way. From the outset we identify where we can minimise our buildings carbon footprint, influence patterns of use and embrace advancing materials and construction technologies to safeguard our planet. Our internal research and development programs focus on locally sourced materials and and emerging construction technologies, and certification benchmarks. The teams’ past achievements include a 6 star Greenstar rating on the ATO Dandenong, exceeding a 5 star target, and the ANMF (Australian Nurses and Midwifery Federation) 5 Star Greenstar new office headquarters in Melbourne. Current work includes two passivhaus projects, one an eight storey CLT hotel.

Social Responsibility

BayleyWard believe it is our responsibility as Architects to effect change on both our physical and social environments through design. We offer our time and services to NGO’s and the charitable sector which has seen us invloved in projects in the Global South as well as in Australia helping the less fortunate within our community.
